JOB REQUIREMENTS
MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Summary: The 2nd shift Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing repair and maintenance on the equipment in the facility. This position will train on 1st shift before moving to 2nd.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- An Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, and industrial maintenance or equivalent of work experience preferred.
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience; strong electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with a background in production maintenance
- Basic computer skills
- Strong math skills
- Dedicated and takes pride in providing a high level of detail towards equipment maintenance, projects, general housekeeping and maintaining all shop areas in a neat and organized fashion
- Manufacturing, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills required
- Knowledge of equipment used in the plastic extrusion industry is preferred but not required.

Essential Functions
- Perform diversified duties to maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
- Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical repair manuals, and electrical prints.
- Must be able to operate a forklift and scissor lift.
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Assist in performing regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
