Shipping & Receiving Manager

Supervise and manage daily shipping and receiving operations. The successful candidate must be comfortable with paperwork, information systems and have great knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.

Reports to:
General Manager

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma required.
  • Proven experience of at least 2 years in a Shipping management or supervisory role.
  • Associate/BA in supply chain, logistics or relative field is a definite plus.
  • A concrete and verifiable knowledge of shipping and/or logistics procedures.
  • Experience in using an ERP system.
  • Computer savvy with excellent knowledge of MS Office. (especially Excel)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to drive a forklift.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Manage daily shipping and receiving operations.
    • Experience in directing and evaluating subordinates.
    • Prepares bills of lading, raw material inventory.
    • Ability to maintain quality and safety standards.
    • Resolve issues regarding shipped orders.
    • Proper preparation for product being shipped including banding, loading and paperwork.
    • Receipt of incoming products including unloading, storing in proper location, and paperwork.
    • Responsible for finished goods inventory including rotation using the FIFO method, documenting new inventory added and removing inventory which is shipped out.
    • Use software to track, check, prioritize and route orders.
    • Inspect labels, barcodes and other features of completed orders.
    • Ensure compliance to legal regulations and company policies.
    • Responsible for the cleanliness of the warehouse.
    • Ensure complete orders are shipped and delivered in a timely manner.
    • Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.

    Light to moderate physical effort required. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Regularly required to sit or stand, reach and move about the facility.
